PanelSync ("we", "our", or "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains how we handle data when you use our Chrome extension.

2. Data We Process

Comic Panel Images: When you click "Scan", PanelSync captures screenshots of comic panels visible on your current page and sends them to our secure backend server for optical character recognition (OCR) and translation processing.

3. How We Use Your Data

OCR Processing: Images are analyzed to detect and extract text from comic panels
Translation: Extracted text is translated using third-party translation APIs
Display: Translated text is returned to your browser and overlaid on the comic

4. Data Storage and Retention

We do NOT store your data. All images and text are processed in real-time and immediately discarded after translation. We do not maintain databases of user images, translations, or browsing history.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services for processing:

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure: Hosts our OCR processing backend
Google Translate (via Deep Translator): Provides translation services
Microsoft Azure Translator: Backup translation service
Groq AI: Fallback translation for edge cases

These services may have their own privacy policies. We do not share any personally identifiable information with these services.

6. Data We Do NOT Collect

Personal information (name, email, address)
Browsing history
User accounts or authentication data
Cookies or tracking data
Location data
Analytics or usage statistics

7. Data Security

All data transmission between your browser and our backend server uses HTTPS encryption. Our backend infrastructure is hosted on Oracle Cloud with industry-standard security measures.

8. Your Rights

Since we do not store any user data, there is no data to access, modify, or delete. You can uninstall the extension at any time through Chrome's extension settings.

9. Children's Privacy

PanelSync does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The extension processes comic images regardless of user age but does not collect personal information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Continued use of PanelSync after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
